hey guys! Sorry i didn't get a chance to tell you all about my ministy week. It was really good. My team was in charge of doing Bibles in schools assemblies and we did a skit about "running the race of life". I was a puppet named Chip Skylark "from the snowy slopes of Canada" and i was a commentator for the games. I tried to make my voice sound like Larry the cucumber, but I don't think it worked out that way. Oh well :) We also got to hang out with a group of Maori kids about 5 times that week too. That was fun. Prayer for those kids would be much appreciated because they go to the kids club that's there and that could be the only Christian influence that those kids have. Most of them come from pretty rough homes, but they are really great kids.
We also had a chance to hang out with another Capernwray team (the soccer team) and that was good to just get a break from kids. Remember how I said that i got "asked out by a German"? Well me and David have a specail friendship, half the time we play fight and we were play fighting @ the hot pools and everyone from Capers said that we were having a "lover's quarrel". it was pretty funny. I guess you had to have been there. :)
Other than that ministry week went well. We actually had a "team meltdown" and we needed to discuss some issues with each other however I think we needed that to function properly as a team.
At the moment I"m on 2 week break. we spent Friday night & Sat. night @ Rotorua and yesterday some of us even went zorbing. See www.zorb.com for more details. Basically you roll down a hill in a big plastic bubble and you can have hot water in it too (that's what me and Judith did). It was the 2nd coolest thing I've done down here; next to skydiving, of course :) So ya that was a definate highlight. Currently I"m in Wellington with my "travelling buddies" who are:
Belinda (Austria)
Hanna(Germany
Judith (Germany)
Yumi(Japan)
Laura(USA)
Cat(Australian)
Earlene(Canada)
Ya, that's quite the nationality combo and it can be frustrating at times because there's only 3 of us that have english as a 1st langauge, but it's definately fun :) I"m learning SO much German and i'm working on my Japanese a little bit too. I mostly learn German so that I can bug David (Gerken) with it....tehehehe! Anyway we're waiting for "the boys" to get here (RAy, Adam, David, Rob) then we can all plan what we're going in Wellington. However they aren't @ our hostel yet and we can't really plan without them, so we'll see what happens.
I suppose that's all for now. If you're trying to e-mail my earleneulrich@capernwray.org.nz address it might take me a few days to write back because sometimes that address doesn't work on a "non school" computer which is understandable. So don't be alarmed if i don't reply within a week, sorry about that. But ya keep e-mailing because I'd love to hear from you guys! Love and miss you all heaps! God bless!!
