Clue, Baby Jose, and Getting a Goal

Clue and Baby Jose:

Hello again friends! Sorry it's taken me like a week to update but we
just got bakc to school last week (monday) and now it's just getting
bakc into routine and what not. Plus I've had heaps of e-mails to reply to
(don't worry, I'll get to your sooner or later...sorry for the delay).
But ya, that's the basics of what's been happening to me since I've
been back.

It's almost Breakthrough time again!! And if you don't remember what
Breakthrough is it's where all the youth groups from the surrounding area
come to Capers and play some games and then hear the gospel message.
The theme this time around is CLUE....like the board game. I don't know
who the characters are going to be yet. me and Kirsty are in charge of
transforming the area by the green picnic table into "Lover's Lane".
We're mostly thinking about Valentine's Day themed stuff for it. Yes i
know that "Lover's Lane" is not in the board game CLUE but we had to
create new places so that there's more for the kids to do. But ya I"ll try
to keep you updated as things come up :)

Oh and I"m having a baby!!! No just kidding! Ever since i got here in
January I've been eating quite abit and when we were in Christchurch
Laura named my stomach bulge "Baby Jose". And the name kinda stuck. So
last night we were having ice cream sandwiches and i couldn't eat anymore
so took the spoon with a little bit of ice cream on it, held it by my
stomach i told "baby Jose" "Here! Just take it! I can't eat it
anymore!". Laura pretty much died laughing! I guess you had to have been there.
But then I noticed how it's been about nine months since I've been down
here, and Jose's been "growing" since then. Nine months!! Uh oh!! Cat
said that soon I'll have to give Jose up! No! He's mine! LoL!!! But no,
I"m NOT having a baby..i"ve just been eating alot of food lately. Hey,
i can't help it that the food's really good down here!! :)

Job 38:1-41
"Then the Lord answered Job from the whirlwind:

" Who is this that questions my wisdom with such ignorent
words? Brace yourself, beacuse i have some questions for you, and you must
answer them.

Where were you when i laid the foundatins of the earth? tell
me, if you know so much. do you know how it's dimensions were determined
and who did the surveying? what supports its foundations, and who laid
its cornerstone as the morning stars sang together and all the angels
shouted for joy?

Who defined the boundaries of the sea as it burst forth from
the womb, and as i clothed it with clouds and thick darkness? for i
locked it behind barred gates, limiting its shores. i said, "thus far and
no farther will you come. here your proud waves must stop!"

Have you ever commanded the morning to apear and caused the
dawn to rise in the east? have you ever told the daylight to spread to
the ends of the earth, to bring an end to the night's wickedness? for the
features of the earth take shape as the light approaches, and the dawn
is robed in red. the light disturbs the haunts of the wicked, and it
stops the arm that is raised in violence.

Have you explored the springs which the seas come? have you
walked about and explored their depths? do you kow where the gates of
death are located? have you seen the gates of utter gloom? do you realize
the extent of the earth? tell me about it if you know!

Where does the light come from, and where does the darkness
go? can you take it to its home? do you know how to get there? but of
course you know all this! for you were born before it was all created, and
you are so very experienced!

Have you visited the treasures of the snow? have you seen
where hail is made and stored? i have reserved it for the time of trouble,
for the day of battle and war. where is the path to the orgin of light?
where is the home of the east wind?

Who created a channel for the torrents of rain? who laid out
the path for the lightening? who makes the rain fall on barren land, in
a desert where no one lives? who sends the rain that satisfies the
parched ground and makes the tender grass spring up?

Does the rain have a father? where does the dew come from? who
is the mother of the ice? who gives birth to the frost from the
heavens? for the water turns to ice as hard as rock, and the surface of the
water freezes.

Can you hold back the movements of the stars? are you able to
restrain the Pleides or Orion? can you ensure the proper sequence of
the seasons or guide the constelation of the bear with her cubs across
the heavens? do you know the laws of the univerce and how God rules the
earth?

Can you shout to the clouds and make it rain? can you make
lightening appear and cause it to strike as you direct it? who gives
intuition and instinct? who is wise enough to count all the clouds? who can
tilt the water jars of heaven, turning the dry dust to clumps of mud?

Can you stalk prep for a lioness and satisfy the young lions'
appetites as they lie in their dens or crouch in the thicket? who
provides food for the ravens when their young cry out to God as they wander
about in hunger?
....
then the Lord said to Job, " do you still want to argue with the
Almighty? you are God's critic, but do you have the answers?"

I Got A Goal!!!!

Hello again! Well last night was probably the best soccer ever!! First
of all Charlie made a mix CD with heaps of awesome songs like:
American Woman
Chariot
Crazy in Love
Billie Jean
You know, fun songs like that. so i was totally stoked to be playing
soccer with some awesome songs. Plus i was on a really good team..

so ya our team was playing and "Crazy in Love" was playing (which is
like my fav song, because it's Beyonce!!) and wanted to bust out a move
however i was playing. Then some how I scored a goal! Ya you read that
right!!! EARLENE SCORED HER 1ST GOAL IN SOCCER!!! Believe me, i was in
shock. I think I still am :) It was awesome beyond awesome plus i got my
goal to Beyonce!! it totally made my night :)
