Getting Into the Christmas Spirit

Hello friends! As you all know I've been in New Zealand this past year, and as you well know, NZ's weather patterns are opposite ours. So when it's December it's like our summer weather here in Sask; hot but with more humidity than Sask. Anyway as you have read in my blog, i was involved in a choir down in NZ and we sang Christmas songs. now Christmas songs are awesome to sing and all, don't get me wrong, but it's just weird to sings Christmas songs while you're outside in a tank top and capri's.....it's just weird. So the Christmas "spirit" hasn't really hit me until recently (today actually) when i decided to copy all my Christmas tunes to my Lappy and make a Christmas play list. Now that I'm listening to it, I think the "holiday spirit" has started to hit me. Is that a good thing? Well it's Christmas Eve and I have one piece of advice for you all:

If you find a jolly old guy in your house with a sackfull of stuff on Christmas Eve, ask to see some I.D., you can never be too careful :)

And Visions of Spencer Danced Through My Head (?)

Whoah dawg!! I haven't blogged in ages! Sorry for the delay. Many things have been happening to me. Currently I"m listening to "Since you've been gone" and because of Spencer, that song will be forever known to me as Spencer's song. It's like the image of Spence dancing to it is burned onto my retinas and every time that song comes up i picture Spence. I guess you had to have been @ Capers this past semester to really get what i'm talking about.

As for how i feel about being home, well that' s a whole other topic of discussion.Yes, it's true I'm back in Canadia....and yes you did see and "i" there. I've been with really awesome Americans this past year and as much as i hated hearing "Canadia" in New Zealand, it kinda stuck and it makes people here do a double take when you say it. Um, my 1st night was spent in S'toon, which really wasn't my 1st choice because i just wanted to be on the farm but my plane got in @ like 2:00am from Calgary so i totally understand dad not wanting to drive that early in the morning. oh and i was kinda saddened that dad wasn't the 1st person i got to hug when i got home, it was mom. Mainly i hugged her first because she was the first one up in the crowd taking pictures of me getting of the plane. But don't worry, Dad did get his hug :)

This past week or so has been just unpacking my NZ things and the other day me and dad headed to S'toon and we took out some of my things from my house there and hauled them to the farm. And now I"m organizing all my NZ stuff, S'toon stuff, and farm stuff and sorting through it and chucking the stuff I don' need anymore. I think i have too much stuff!!

Oh and I also got a laptop (which I'm using @ the moment). I got it pretty much the day after i got back. Mom and dad both knew that i needed a laptop so they got me this one for Christmas. I don't think i need anything else. I mean like i said before, i think i have too much stuff. But ther's one issue that I have with my laptop....he doesn't have a name. Any suggestions? for the past few days I've just been pulling a Strong Bad and calling it "Lappy" but someone i don' think that that name does it justice. Why a "he"? Maybe it's beacuse i like to push guys's buttons, well that's if i know how. But like a said before...any suggestions for a name?

I was just thinking about my 2 best friends that i met my last semester. The stupid thing is that both of them live on opposing sides of the world as me; one's from Europe and the other's from Australia. I miss them the most out of everyone. Maybe it's cause both of them know about my frustrations from everything from my ex-boyfriend to choir to assignments to just me being emotional. Man i miss them :( I can't wait to see them again..well that's if i go back to New Zealand.

yes you read that right "if i go back to New Zealand". Now i'm referring to my internship. Three days before i was scheduled to leave i had a meeting with my pastor down there. The jist of the meeting was that the couple that i'm would be working with isn't sure when/if they need me anymore. So from my end all i can say is that I don't know if/when i'm going back to New Zealand, which is royally frustrating on my end becaus i have to get student visas, tickets, possibly move all my stuff out of S'toon, plus there's other various things that have to be done if i leave Canada for another extended period of time. I really want the internship, i mean i loved being away from home, i miss my kids down there, plus a couple of my closest friends will still be in New Zealand (well that's depending on when i go down there again myself). So yes you all can definately pray about this thing and that God will let me know where i need to be and when i need to be in that particular place.

If any Capernwray people from this past semester (Spring 2005) are reading this, I'm sorry i won't be able to e-mail you until i get my Mahara (school address book, for all you non-Capers readers), so if you want to keep in contact until them please please e-mail me @ frizzy_2003@hotmail.com If you do e-mail me here, don't be surprised if it takes me about a week to write you back because I've got some catching up to do on other e-mails and i usually go in order or when i got the e-mail. but yes, please e-mail me if you're a Capers student because i miss you all heaps!! Don't question it, it's science!

Um, i guess that's all i have to say for now. Oh! And you're feeling really creative not only can ou conjure up a name for my Lappy, but you can also find a name suitable to a teal colored Nalgene bottle, i figure...why not! :) Alright I'm out like a fat kid in dodgeball! God bless!

A Baby's Hug

We were the only family with children in the restaurant. I sat Erik in
a high chair and noticed everyone was quietly sitting and talking.
Suddenly, Erik squealed with glee and said, "Hi." He pounded his fat baby
hands on the high chair tray. His eyes were crinkled in laughter and
his mouth was bared in a toothless grin, as he wriggled and giggled with
merriment.

I looked around and saw the source of his merriment. It was a man
whose pants were baggy with a zipper at half-mast and his toes poked out of
would-be shoes. His shirt was dirty and his hair was uncombed and
unwashed. His whiskers were too short to be called a beard and his
nose was so varicose it looked like a road map.

We were too far from him to smell, but I was sure he smelled. His
hands waved and flapped on loose wrists. "Hi there, baby; hi there, big
boy. I see ya, buster," the man said to Erik. My husband and I exchanged looks,
"What do we do?" Erik continued to laugh and answer, "Hi." Everyone
in the restaurant noticed and looked at us and then at the man. The
old geezer was creating a nuisance with my beautiful baby.

Our meal came and the man began shouting from across the room, "Do
ya patty cake? Do you know peek-a-boo? Hey, look, he knows
peek-a-boo."

Nobody thought the old man was cute. He was obviously drunk. My
husband and I were embarrassed. We ate in silence; all except for Erik, who
was running through his repertoire for the admiring skid-row bum, who in
turn, reciprocated with his cute comments.

We finally got through the meal and headed for the door. My husband
went to pay the check and told me to meet him in the parking lot. The old man
sat poised between me and the door. "Lord, just let me out of here before he
speaks to me or Erik," I prayed. As I drew closer to the man, I turned my back
trying to sidestep him and avoid any air he might be breathing. As I did, Erik leaned
over my arm, reaching with both arms in a baby's "pick-me-up" position. Before I
could stop him, Erik had propelled himself from my arms to the man.

Suddenly a very old smelly man and a very young baby consummated their
love and kinship. Erik, in an act of total trust, love, and submission laid his
tiny head upon theman's ragged shoulder. The man's eyes closed, and I saw tears hover
beneath his lashes.

His aged hands full of grime, pain, and hard labor, cradled my baby's
bottom and stroked his back. No two beings have ever loved so deeply for so short
a time. I stood awestruck. The old man rocked and cradled Erik in his arms and
his eyes opened and set squarely on mine. He said in a firm commanding voice,
"You take care of this baby."

Somehow I managed, "I will," from a throat that contained a stone.

He pried Erik from his chest, lovingly and longingly, as though he
were in pain. I received my baby, and the man said, "God bless you, ma'am, you've
given me my Christmas gift."

I said nothing more than a muttered thanks.

With Erik in my arms, I ran for the car. My husband was wondering why
I was crying and holding Erik so tightly, and why I was saying, "My God, my
God, forgive me." I had just witnessed Christ's love shown through the innocence
of a tiny child who saw no sin, who made no judgment; a child who saw a soul, and a
mother who saw a suit of clothes. I was a Christian who was blind, holding a
child who was not.

I felt it was God asking, "Are you willing to share your son for a
moment?" when He shared His for all eternity. The ragged old man, unwittingly, had
reminded me, "To enter the Kingdom of God, we must become as little children."
Sometimes, it takes a child to remind us of what is really important.

We must always remember who we are, where we came from and, most
importantly, how we feel about others. The clothes on your back or the car that you
drive or the house that you live in does not define you at all; it is how you treat
your fellow man that identifies who you are.

Okay i think that should give you a jist of how i feel!!

Oh and for those of you who don't know yet, I'm coming back to New
Zealand in April. Why you ask? well here's the deal I GOT THE INTERNSHIP @
BRIDGES!!! They said that they would like me to be an intern there. The
only downside is that they won't have and internship program ready for
me in January/Febuary.....they'll have it ready in April. Meaning
they'll need me to come back in April. So....that' means I"ll be coming
back in Dec.15 and hopefully coming back to New Zealand in April....maybe
the 13th (?) somewhere in there. so yes, if you want me to visit
you...let me know when between Jan-April. Yes I'll be home the last 2 weeks

Leaving in T-6 days (And very sadly Counting)

yes you read that correctly, I'll be leaving NZ in like 6 days. ya, totally sucks!! But I'll be coming back in April for my internship. Some of you don't know this yet, but i did get the youth internship for my church down here (Praise God!). The only downfall is that I can't start until April because the couple that i"m working with still needs to figure out a program for me (they're new at this too).

So basically what i'm trying to say is that if you want me to visit you within the next 3 months, you need to let me know where you're going to be and when.

Um, ya....my mind's been all over the place with getting stuff arranged for when i leave (mainly my car down here, which I'm hoping to still have when i get back). Plus on top of that Carols by Candlelight is tonight. I think my biggest fear about that is my sax squeeking on a quiet song like "AWay in a Manger". ya, that won't be too good. Um, plus i have to practice "Stille Nacht" with the German girls, finish my laundry, do a sound check with the whole choir, most of this requires standing in the hot sun, which means I'll get a nice dark tan and I'll come home nice and brown and everyone else will be pasty white (Mwahahaha!) Just kidding, but seriously! Well that's all i got to say for now. I hope to see most you guys soon. Let me know when you'll be around :) Love you all & God bless!!

Possum Pinata, Carols by Candlelight Practice, Driving lessons & Other News

Nov 28

Hey!! sorry i wasn't able to update sooner. Been crazy as busy down
here...

The weekend after the boys put on a fabulous masquerade ball, us girls
put on a Lumberjack Night for them. Me and Steph spend all of Saturday
morning making a giant possum pinata. I'll have to show you sometime.
But the boys had fun because some of the other girls made paintball
waterballoons for the boys to play with after we had our meal (which was
steak, ribs, potatoes, and 3 different kinds of pie!!). so that was the
guy's night for this semester.

Um, other than and avoiding my Trinity paper I've been really busy
with preparation for Carols by Candlelight. That's like our big Christmas
event that we get the Homestead all decorated for, and we sing outside
and people come out and hear the message of Christmas. Yes you read
that right, sing outside...remember I"m in New Zealand....it's "summer"
here. So ya I've been busy learning my alto singing part (apparently I DO
sing!) and plus I've been involved in the band that we put together
(now why on earth would i skip out on an opportunity to play my sax!). The
band consists of:
-2 guitars
-bass guitar
-2 African style hand drums
-drum kit
-tenor recorder
-saxophone
so ya, it's very different from the normal band that I'm used to back
home, but at least it gets me playing with other people. Plus I don't
have to play bass notes which is what I usually end up doing in worhip
practice. Whoo-Hooo!!! So now I had to transpose the piano alto line
into my sax and it sounds really cool when I play alto and the recorder is
playing melody. However i think sometimes i end up drowning her out
because a sax is much louder than a recorder. Ok for those of you who
don't understand what I just said, that's ok. I"ll forgive you this time :)
And I've been playing "Silent Night" for the German girl trio that's
happening for Carols too. I'm thinking by the time I go home I'll be
able to sing "Stille Nacht, Heleige Nacht" fluently (well @ least the 1st
verse). So that will be pretty cool.

Oh and I've also been learning how to drive my car down here. It's a
VERY long story (i'll have to tell you sometime) but I co-bought the
thing in like April and now I'm finally getting the chance to drive it
(like a said, it's a long story). I dont' feel comfortable driving stick
on the left side of the road just yet, but I've been very glad to have a
patient and gracious teacher :). So hopefully if i stay here that will
give me a chance to use the car i bought in April.

Which leads me to my next point of business...my internship. At the
moment I still don't really know what's going on and i fly away to Canada
in 2 weeks and 3 days.............man, that sucks. I mean not that
going home sucks, but leaving here sucks. anyway I still dont' know whether
or not it's a for sure that the church wants me or not. All I've heard
is that it looks "promising" whatever that means. I'm the kind of
person that wants a for sure answer ASAP so i can start planning. Hey, do
you guys out there in "online-land" have any sweet ideas for a youth
group event or a bible study "theme" that i could work from? Cause I'd like
to get as many different ideas as i can to make youth group as
interesting as possible :)

Alrighty i"m out like a fat kid in dodgeball......bye!

Masquerade, Soccer, Kawhia

Hey!! Well this weekend was pretty awesome. I didn't get ANY work done
(oops!) however I did have fun :)

Friday
The boys put on a masquerade dinner for us girls so all Friday
afternoon us girls were running about curling hair, putting on makeup, making
sure our masks matched our outfits, and what not. When we were all
through we looked SO good. yes i know i just sounded like Teen Girl Squad,
but that's how we looked: SO GOOD!! Man i wish you guys could have seen
it!! If you want just e-mail me and I can send you a picture or two.
And don't even get me started on the boys!! I seriously don't think
there's anything better looking than a man in a suit!! NO JOKE! OKay that's
just my humble opinion, but still!! So the boys escorted us to our
tables, Ben and Simon played giutar, we had pasta and bread and really good
dessert cake. Then came the best part.......DANCE PARTY!!! oh yea! WE
danced and we danced! It was just at really good night :)

Saturday
So then after all the dressing up the night before, a few of us went
and played at the soccer tournament. Yes i know i told you that I would
die.....I was joking people! Obviously i didn't die....but i sure did
feel exhausted! We lost all our games :( I really don't think I'm made
for soccer. It took me a little while to figure out a strategy for
playing, however i was on the social team and all the really really good
players were on the serious team. Then again they lost all their games
except one (WOOHOO!!). But everyone on that team were really good players.

After we got back to school a few of us watched Hitch. I like that
movie. However I'm realising that "love" doesn't happen like it does in the
movies. It takes time and really getting to know the other person and
putting God into your relationship should be the first thing that you
do. And in case you're wondering....... NO! I'm not dating anyone,
there's nothing happening over here! I'm not even ready for that kind of
thing anyway. So if anyone did come up to me and ask me out or something
like that, I'd have to decline. I'm mainly not ready for that kind of
thing because i have things to work out from my last relationship. Yes i
know that that was like a year ago, however the feelings of rejection
and hurt are still there so i need time to fully work through that and
realise that the only person that I need acceptance from is God....and I
already have that. Like i know it in my head, but it hasn't sank down
to my heart yet. Once i fully realise what kind of a person that God
sees me as, that will biuld up my self confidence (which does have a
tendency to be lacking), and then I'll be ready for that kind of
relationship. Plus, all in all, I know God's got a guy picked out for
me...somewhere. I'm just going to have to trust Him with it :)

Sunday
Today me, Jen, Michelle (George), and Spence went to Kawhia to do the
service there. Me and Jen gave our testimonies and Spence spoke on
Jer.29:10-14 (which was really good). We also spent a couple of hours on the
beach with a family from the church. The beach was pretty good because
the tide was going out and when you dug a little bit in the sand there
was hot water coming up. We probably would have stayed longer however i
had music practice for Fellowship tonight. So ya i got back and
practiced the melody line to the two songs that i"m playin for (woohoo!! no
bass line for my alto tonight!!) and other than that I've been in the
computer room talking to David and e-mailing Adam back and forth. So my
day hasn't been too exciting. But I have excited/nervous for my playing
tonight. I haven't played a melody line here in like ages! I wish i
could play more however a sax can be kinda awkward with giutars and a
drums, it just doesn't seem to fit as nice as it would in a big band....you
know what i"m sayin? :)

Breakthrough, Internship, Oral Report

hey guys! sorry for the really really long delay. Things have been
really hectic around here!!

First of all Breakthrough was last week. The area by the green picnic
table was tranformed into a Valentine's Day paradise, formally known as
Lover's Lane. Me, Belinda, and Kirsty all dressed up as fairies and
that's how was ran our station for the night. Ya i"m sure you can all
imagine me prancing around in a fairy outfit....believe me, i did my fair
share of prancing!!! As for the theme of the evening, it was CLUE. The
CLUE characters were (yes, i know for most of you this will mean
nothing, but for those of you that know these people, you'll laugh):
Ray-Prof. Plum
Vanessa-Ms. Scarlett
Cat-Mrs.Peacock
Laura-Mrs.White
Cullen-Col.Mustard
Tim-Mr.Green
In the script that Vicki wrote, Vanessa had to flirt with Ray. That was
entertiaing! I'm sure all you people from last semester are killing
yourselves laughing at that!! And I got it all on video!! Tehehehe! So ya
there was about 120 kids that came that night and Vicki gave a really
good message about how we can get distracted by little things in life
and we loose focus on what really matters....CHRIST!!! Hmmm, that kinda
sounds familiar, trust me, I've had my fair share of distractions (just
ask Stacey, Ruthie and Nikki!!)

My next concern after Breakthrough was looking into a possible
internship @ my church here in New Zealand. A few of you know about this
already, and I'm sorry that i didn't post this sooner, but i didn't want
people thinking "oh Earlene's leaving us for good!! She'll never come back
to Canada!!" Well that's not up to me to decide, that's God's business
and whatever He says goes. But ya I've been thinking about what I'd do
after Capers and I realized that I"m not in Uni, i don't have a solid
job that I can just jump right back into when i go home, plus my church
back home (Spalding Gospel Chapel...i mean Crossroads Bible Church)
just got a new youth pastor and i wouldn't want to "invade" their ministry
there, so what's there for me to do back home? I'm sure some of you are
already thinking "you can come see me! don't you love me anymore?" Well
of course i do! I'm a compulsive Feeler! of course I love you! It's
just that I thought i'd look into maybe staying here and seeing if there's
any chance for ministry work here. And so in the search for that i came
across an opportunity to be a youth intern @ Bridges (my church down
here). I've had a few meetings with Pastor Murray and this week he'll be
talking about me in his meeting with the church elders. So far things
are looking good. Now before all of you think I've left you for good, i
want you to know that if God does want me to stay here for another
year, (that's how long the internship would be) I want you to know that a
year goes by fast. I mean I've alreay been here 8 months already! 8
months! See, the time goes by fast! Plus if everything works out i want to
go home for Christmas for a few weeks. oh and if you want to get me a
Christmas present I think a good idea would be to just give my dad money
and then once everything is added up, hopefully it'll be enough for a
laptop!! ok, i'm kidding, but it was worth a shot right?! :)

Well ok the rest of my time has been spent working on my Oral report on
"God's Will". I thought it seemed like a fitting subject because i
really don't know what God wants me to do. But I just have trust in Him and
everything else will just come together. "Seek first the kingdom of God
and His righteousness and all these things will be given to you" Thanks
Ate Happy for reminding me of that fact :) That really helped and
encouraged me :)

Other than those 3 things, I've been just hanging out, getting a tan,
playing soccer and just having a good time learning about God. Oh and
there's a big soccer tournament on Saturday...it's an all day thing. I'M
GOING TO DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so if you don't hear from me again, I died
playing soccer.

Thought for today.....

As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed
to ever let you down probably will.
You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder
every time. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours
was broken.
You'll fight with your best friend.
You'll blame a new love for things an old one did.
You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose
someone you love.
So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never
been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of
happiness you'll
never get back.

Monday Oct. 24

Het guys! well I've had a very interesting past couple of days...

Thursday:
Soccer night again!! I told Cat that if i got another goal I'd probably
die because of the shock of it all (I'm really not that good of a
soccer player, i just ran around in my rainbow socks!!). Yet somehow i got
two goals that night....dont' ask me how! But i did!! And there wasn't
even Beyonce playing. In the words of Chelly "ya, i work out" ;)

Friday:
I watched Anchorman and it totally reminded me of last semester and all
the quotes tht people used from it. Like "it's make with real bits of
panther so you know it's good!" and "right on! Neato! Super duper!".
Plus it reminded me of Ian and Jonny and when we all went to see it in
theatres. Good times!

Saturday:
i walked into my room and my Aussie roomie was on the floor holding a
towel and there was something in the towel. A DUCK!! Somehow a duck got
into our shower (i think someone put it there) and Cat found it in
there and it seemed pretty tame so she held it for a bit. We let it walk
around the room, however it took a dump by my bed...so that was kinda
gross. We let it go and we put it by another duck's nest. Hopefully it's
doing alright. We even named it Oscar. so that was probably the most
random thing that's happened to me.

Sunday:
I tried to figure out who put the duck in my room and David said that
he knew who was in on it. I asked "what do i have to do to get you to
tell me?" all i had to do was kiss his feet. I ended up doing because
his feet wre clean and i was bored and needed a fun dare. It turns out
that John was in on the duck fiasco...or so that's what David told me. I
also watched "Shawshank Redemption" very good movie, a lot of swearing
and violence, but all in all a good movie.

Clue, Baby Jose, and Getting a Goal

Clue and Baby Jose:

Hello again friends! Sorry it's taken me like a week to update but we
just got bakc to school last week (monday) and now it's just getting
bakc into routine and what not. Plus I've had heaps of e-mails to reply to
(don't worry, I'll get to your sooner or later...sorry for the delay).
But ya, that's the basics of what's been happening to me since I've
been back.

It's almost Breakthrough time again!! And if you don't remember what
Breakthrough is it's where all the youth groups from the surrounding area
come to Capers and play some games and then hear the gospel message.
The theme this time around is CLUE....like the board game. I don't know
who the characters are going to be yet. me and Kirsty are in charge of
transforming the area by the green picnic table into "Lover's Lane".
We're mostly thinking about Valentine's Day themed stuff for it. Yes i
know that "Lover's Lane" is not in the board game CLUE but we had to
create new places so that there's more for the kids to do. But ya I"ll try
to keep you updated as things come up :)

Oh and I"m having a baby!!! No just kidding! Ever since i got here in
January I've been eating quite abit and when we were in Christchurch
Laura named my stomach bulge "Baby Jose". And the name kinda stuck. So
last night we were having ice cream sandwiches and i couldn't eat anymore
so took the spoon with a little bit of ice cream on it, held it by my
stomach i told "baby Jose" "Here! Just take it! I can't eat it
anymore!". Laura pretty much died laughing! I guess you had to have been there.
But then I noticed how it's been about nine months since I've been down
here, and Jose's been "growing" since then. Nine months!! Uh oh!! Cat
said that soon I'll have to give Jose up! No! He's mine! LoL!!! But no,
I"m NOT having a baby..i"ve just been eating alot of food lately. Hey,
i can't help it that the food's really good down here!! :)

Something to chew on:

I think these are good passages to just keep us in our place as mere
humans....

Job 38:1-41
"Then the Lord answered Job from the whirlwind:

" Who is this that questions my wisdom with such ignorent
words? Brace yourself, beacuse i have some questions for you, and you must
answer them.

Where were you when i laid the foundatins of the earth? tell
me, if you know so much. do you know how it's dimensions were determined
and who did the surveying? what supports its foundations, and who laid
its cornerstone as the morning stars sang together and all the angels
shouted for joy?

Who defined the boundaries of the sea as it burst forth from
the womb, and as i clothed it with clouds and thick darkness? for i
locked it behind barred gates, limiting its shores. i said, "thus far and
no farther will you come. here your proud waves must stop!"

Have you ever commanded the morning to apear and caused the
dawn to rise in the east? have you ever told the daylight to spread to
the ends of the earth, to bring an end to the night's wickedness? for the
features of the earth take shape as the light approaches, and the dawn
is robed in red. the light disturbs the haunts of the wicked, and it
stops the arm that is raised in violence.

Have you explored the springs which the seas come? have you
walked about and explored their depths? do you kow where the gates of
death are located? have you seen the gates of utter gloom? do you realize
the extent of the earth? tell me about it if you know!

Where does the light come from, and where does the darkness
go? can you take it to its home? do you know how to get there? but of
course you know all this! for you were born before it was all created, and
you are so very experienced!

Have you visited the treasures of the snow? have you seen
where hail is made and stored? i have reserved it for the time of trouble,
for the day of battle and war. where is the path to the orgin of light?
where is the home of the east wind?

Who created a channel for the torrents of rain? who laid out
the path for the lightening? who makes the rain fall on barren land, in
a desert where no one lives? who sends the rain that satisfies the
parched ground and makes the tender grass spring up?

Does the rain have a father? where does the dew come from? who
is the mother of the ice? who gives birth to the frost from the
heavens? for the water turns to ice as hard as rock, and the surface of the
water freezes.

Can you hold back the movements of the stars? are you able to
restrain the Pleides or Orion? can you ensure the proper sequence of
the seasons or guide the constelation of the bear with her cubs across
the heavens? do you know the laws of the univerce and how God rules the
earth?

Can you shout to the clouds and make it rain? can you make
lightening appear and cause it to strike as you direct it? who gives
intuition and instinct? who is wise enough to count all the clouds? who can
tilt the water jars of heaven, turning the dry dust to clumps of mud?

Can you stalk prep for a lioness and satisfy the young lions'
appetites as they lie in their dens or crouch in the thicket? who
provides food for the ravens when their young cry out to God as they wander
about in hunger?
....
then the Lord said to Job, " do you still want to argue with the
Almighty? you are God's critic, but do you have the answers?"

My "Precious"...And Digicam Frustrations!

hey! I"m having an alright day today. I mean i got heaps of souvenirs for poeple back home...well msotly i just got small stuff for lots of people. I figure that if you have kept in contact with me then you get a little something extra for that. So if you barely kept in contact with me, or not at all, then you just get something small. I think that's only fair :)

Me and Laura went into the Lord of the Rings shop in Queenstown and i found myself a ring of my own...my very own "precious". HOwever it is very cheaply made and you can barely make out that's it's supposed to be "elf" writing on it but i figure I"m reading LOTR, I"m pretty much in "middle-earth" so might as well get my very own ring :) Yay for me. I kinda feel like Frodo now, however i can actually wear my ring without any fear of Sauron....teheheh!!! I"m actually almost done the 1st book and i just started it the beginning of 2 week break! hey, i can' help it if the book is really good!

Laura wanted get a picture under the LOTR store sign so i whipped out my camera however i didn' t have the card that i thought was in there. I had my other tow cards in my purse, but not my 3rd one. I remember that i had it in the camera shop when i developped some pictures for my parents of my travels to Mt.Cook and Milford Sound...however i don't think i took my card out of the machine. Uh no!! So we went back to the camera shop and i told them the situation and gave them my info and they said they'll look into it for me. I'm pretty much kicking myself right now!! That card had all my good pictures on it!! I mean ya i can steal Laura's pictures off her camera but most of those are of her and the mountains, not me and the mountains. So ya, I feel stupid now because i lost my card. ARGH!!! Plus I have to send my camera away to Fuji film when i get back to school because the screen on it doesn't work anymore. Ya i can still take pictures, however i just can't view them with my camera which is really pointless for a digital camera. So that' frustrating too!! ARGH!! So prayer for all this digicam "havock" would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

Well that's all i got to sya for now. the next time you'll hear from me I"ll be back @ Caperwray Bible school...hope to hear from you all again soon! God bless!

Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were Rabbit

I just got back from watching Wallace & Gromit. It's a really cute movie...i highly recommend it :) Dad, if you're reading this i need to watch this movie with you. You'll love it :) but ya, just thought I'ld let y'all know that i saw it and that you should see it too. bye!

What I'm Currently Reading...

Well i just spent the last hour or so @ Starbucks with a venti vanilla cafe misto and i read more of the Lord of the Rings. I know i told a bunch of you that I'd never read the books because I've already seen the movies, however the books actually make me appreciate the movies more because now i understand more of what's going on and the history of it all. Currently i'm in "The Fellowship of the Ring" and I"m just at the part where the "fellowship" starts @ the council of Elrond. But ya, i just thought I'd let you guys know what I've been reading as of last. I think it just sounds really "touristy" to read LOTR in New Zealand....but i love it :) Bye 4 now!

Milford Sound

hey! Well yesterday me and Laura headed over to Milford Sound. On the way there it snowed..now for me as a Canadian snow in October is "normal" however it doesn't happen alot in New Zealand and that was the first time i actually saw it snowing. yes i did see snow while i was on the Southern Alps, however that was just hard snow that you could barely sink into. This was actually slushy type snow! i was SO excited...except seeing it snow reminded me of working @ Eddie Bauer, don't ask me why, it just did!

Here's a basic idea of what we saw @ Milford Sound (see left pic) and i think that's probably the same boat we went on too :) However at the beginning of our boat tour it was raining and cloudy so we couldn't see anything, so that kinda sucked....but by the end things cleared up a bit and we could see Mitre Peak (pictured here) and Bowen Falls. I think Milford Sound was where they filmed this part of the Lord of the Rings (see right pic) ...

Right now Laura's waiting to go bungy jumping... from 440ft!! She's crazy! I was going to do that, then i realized how high that was so then i wanted to bungy off a bridge from 43m (i don't know what that is in feet)...then I realised i'm running out of money and i need to shop for some people down here too, that way that's all out of hte way for Christmas and stuff like that. So now I"m not going bungy jumping....SORRY TO DISSAPPOINT Y'ALL!! but what can you do? I already went skydiving and took a helicopter into the Southern Alps...that's definately more than some poeple can say! Well i gtg. Love you all SO SO much! Hope to hear from you soon! God bless!

Mt.Cook & Queenstown

hey guys! at the moment me and Laura are in Queenstown which is the farthest south I've ever been in the world. Whoo-hoo!! Alright I'll continue on with my 2 week break highlights...

Mt.Cook
Me and Laura decided to split up with the other girls because they wanted to see things that we didn't and they didn't want to go to Queenstown, so we split up. I'm sure the other 4 girls are fine (Cat's back in Australia for a week then she'll be back @ school). so on Sunday me and Laura headed down to Mt.Cook. For the most part we just sat around and watched tv and read...we didn't want to plan every single thing we did. However on Monday we did something spectacular.

We wanted to got up in a helicopter for an aerial tour of the southern alps. it cost alot of money (sorry dad!!!) but it was definately worth it. We even landed near the Gorilla valley which is pretty much within the southern alps. that was the first time I've been on snow in New Zealand. It was SO cool to be up in a helicopter and see Mt.Cook!! That's the tallest peak in New Zealand and i think it's somewhere in the Lord of the Rings scenery. I'll have to watch the movies with you and point it out. I'm telling you! that was definately one of the coolest things I've ever done in my life! SO cool! i wish i could post pictures for you right now...but i can't because it's a public computer. You'll have to e-mail me if you want pictures. I'm still kinda shocked that i did that! It was SO AWESOME!!

Queenstown
we arrived here last night and the only thing we thought of doing was going to Pizza Hut. I finaly had a stuffed crust pizza (i've never had on before), except theirs was filled with cream cheese and not the regular cheese that we have back home. But it was still good, a little sweet but good.

I think the plans for Queenstown is alot of souvnier shopping (please let me know what you want because then I'll have better idea of what i"m buying for people!! Thanks!) and then mayme bungy jumping. I was going to do the 2nd biggest one in the world, however i spent too much money on the helicopter ride @ Mt.Cook so I'm just giong to jump off a bridge..well bungy jump off one ;) I'll be sure to tell you about my experience after it happens. Well that's all i got for updates for now. Hope to hear from y'all soon! God bless!

Picton & Kaikoura & Christchurch

hello again friends!! I"m now in christchurch which is the farthest south i've ever been in the world!! yay for me.so continuing my 2wb (2 week break) adventures...

Picton...
we took the ferry from wellington to picton on tuesday and we met up with the boys again in Picton. that night me, rob, david , belinda and yumi all went to a free concert in a small cafe in Picton. that was SO nice because it wasn't anything too touristy and it was just a nice relaxing atmosphere

Kaikoura.,...
we ended up staying there for 2 days and the first day we sadly said bye to the boys because they had mine and Ray's car and they were heading in a different direction that us girls had planned, and that was cool too. so we said bye to them. Somehow us girls managed to find a small country cottage to stay at which was really sweet and relatively cheap too and that's always a good thing too. the scenery in Kaikoura is absolutely amazing because you can see snow capped mountains and then the ocean...all at the same time. it was definately mind boggling for a small town Saskatchewan girl like me :) but don't worry..i took heaps of pictures!! the next day that we were in Kaikoura me and my friend Cat ended up going on a boat tour of the coast. We also saw Hector's dolphins (the smallest dolphins in the world), albatrosses, fur seals, and a blue penguin. It was totally cool to see dolphins, they even came right up to the boat and i got some really pics of them too :)

oh and for the record...it may sound like me and David are "dating" but we're not. we just have a really awesome friendship where we can bug each other yet still have a serious conversation once in a while too. So if anyone thought we were "dating" i hate to break it to ya, but we're not...sorry for the confusion. And don't worry, if anything ever did happen (between me and any guy) I'll let you guys know :)

Christchurch....
this is my current position. us girls were thinking about giong the the aquarium today and maybe even seeing a kiwi bird if we get the chance too..

but ya i gtg. love nad miss you all! e-mail soon okay? bye!

Rotorua & Wellington

hey guys! Sorry i didn't get a chance to tell you all about my ministy week. It was really good. My team was in charge of doing Bibles in schools assemblies and we did a skit about "running the race of life". I was a puppet named Chip Skylark "from the snowy slopes of Canada" and i was a commentator for the games. I tried to make my voice sound like Larry the cucumber, but I don't think it worked out that way. Oh well :) We also got to hang out with a group of Maori kids about 5 times that week too. That was fun. Prayer for those kids would be much appreciated because they go to the kids club that's there and that could be the only Christian influence that those kids have. Most of them come from pretty rough homes, but they are really great kids.

We also had a chance to hang out with another Capernwray team (the soccer team) and that was good to just get a break from kids. Remember how I said that i got "asked out by a German"? Well me and David have a specail friendship, half the time we play fight and we were play fighting @ the hot pools and everyone from Capers said that we were having a "lover's quarrel". it was pretty funny. I guess you had to have been there. :)

Other than that ministry week went well. We actually had a "team meltdown" and we needed to discuss some issues with each other however I think we needed that to function properly as a team.

At the moment I"m on 2 week break. we spent Friday night & Sat. night @ Rotorua and yesterday some of us even went zorbing. See www.zorb.com for more details. Basically you roll down a hill in a big plastic bubble and you can have hot water in it too (that's what me and Judith did). It was the 2nd coolest thing I've done down here; next to skydiving, of course :) So ya that was a definate highlight. Currently I"m in Wellington with my "travelling buddies" who are:
Belinda (Austria)
Hanna(Germany
Judith (Germany)
Yumi(Japan)
Laura(USA)
Cat(Australian)
Earlene(Canada)
Ya, that's quite the nationality combo and it can be frustrating at times because there's only 3 of us that have english as a 1st langauge, but it's definately fun :) I"m learning SO much German and i'm working on my Japanese a little bit too. I mostly learn German so that I can bug David (Gerken) with it....tehehehe! Anyway we're waiting for "the boys" to get here (RAy, Adam, David, Rob) then we can all plan what we're going in Wellington. However they aren't @ our hostel yet and we can't really plan without them, so we'll see what happens.

I suppose that's all for now. If you're trying to e-mail my earleneulrich@capernwray.org.nz address it might take me a few days to write back because sometimes that address doesn't work on a "non school" computer which is understandable. So don't be alarmed if i don't reply within a week, sorry about that. But ya keep e-mailing because I'd love to hear from you guys! Love and miss you all heaps! God bless!!

Leaving for Matamata

Sat. Sept 10

Hello friends. Just to give all of you the "heads up" I will not be at
school next week, so if you e-mail/write me I won't answer until @
least Sept.19 because all of the students from Capernwray are going to
Matamata for ministry week. The only way I can really explain ministry week
is that it's like a "mini missions" trip. Wel split up into groups and
focus on one main part of ministry. My group is in charge of bible in
schools assemblies because the bible is still allowed to be taught in NZ
schools which is really awesome! so ya I"ll try to give you some
stories to read when i get back in a week or so but we'll see. I'm also doing
my testimony (tomorrow), teaching a sunday school lesson (tomorrow),
involved in a puppet play, and kids clubs....and this is all next week!
so prayer for all of that would be really awesome! Thanks.
and no Felicia, I did NOT get a job in New Zealand. When I mentioned
"work" i meant work day because every wednesday we either have indoor
duties or outdoor duties. so just to clarify I did not get a job! (I don't
know if she reads this but if not, will someone clarify that to her
from me? Thanks)

I've been getting alot of e-mails saying "why haven't you written me
back yet? you don't write me anymore" I'm sorry? What was that? I don't
write YOU anymore? well this is how my "system" works, if you e-mail me,
I'll try to e-mail you back within a week or so (unless it's ministry
week) then your e-mail goes into a folder that I've made for you so I
know I don't have to reply to it again. Once it's in the folder, I've
written you back. However for some people it takes them about 2-4 weeks to
reply back to me, and THEN they claim that I don't write them. This has
been a very common theme this week and it's been coming up alot in
e-mails from friends back home. Now i don't know if they'll be reading this
or not but I"ll still post it on the blog. I"m just really frustrated
when people claim that I don't write them back when I've sent them
e-mails, cards, and postcards. Remember I'm going to Bible school down here,
I have assignments due too, I'm the one that left home, and I"m the one
that's in a new country. so i really encourage you to keep the contact
up from your end because I really do appreciate hearing from you guys.
Some of you i have even phoned and that costs WAY more money than an
e-mail and a letter. if you want to call me, just e-mail me and ask for
the number. simple as that. But ya, I really do encourage you guys to
keep it up on your end. thanks :) I"m not trying to "guilt trip" you
guys, I'm just stating how i feel so you know because if I don't say
anything now I'll probably explode or something when i get home. I hope to
hear from you guys soon!!

Dart Test

Again, this is one of those forwards that i need to post up. I hope it
makes you think....

Dart Test...

THIS IS A POWERFUL MESSAGE. PLEASE READ ALL OF IT. I AM
PASSING IT ON BECAUSE I AM CERTAINLY NOT ASHAMED TO DO SO.

In light of the many jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is
a little different: This is not intended to be a joke, it's not funny,
it's intended to get you thinking..............

Dart Test...

A young lady named Sally, relates an experience she had in a
seminary class, given by her teacher, Dr. Smith. She says that Dr.
Smithwas known for his elaborate object lessons.

One particular day, Sally walked into the seminary and knew they
were in for a fun day.

On the wall was a big target and on a nearby table were many
darts. Dr. Smithtold the students to draw a picture of someone that they
disliked or someone who had made them angry, and he would allow them to
throw darts at the person's picture.

Sally's friend drew a picture of who had stolen her boyfriend.
Another friend drew a picture of his little brother. Sally drew a picture
of a former friend, putting a great deal of detail into her drawing,
even drawing pimples on the face. Sally was pleased with the overall
effect she had achieved.

The class lined up and began throwing darts. Some of the students
threw their darts with such force that their targets were ripping
apart. Sally looked forward to her turn, and was filled with disappointment
when Dr. Smith, because of time limits, asked the students to return to
their seats. As Sally sat
thinking about how angry she was because she didn't have a chance to
throw any darts at her target. Dr. Smithbegan removing the target from
the wall.

Underneath the target was a picture of Jesus. A hush fell over the
room as each student viewed the mangled picture of Jesus; holes and
jagged marks covered His face and His eyes were pierced.

Dr. Smithsaid only these words... "In as much as ye have done it
unto the least of these my brethren, ye have done it
unto Me."
Matthew 25:40.

No other words were necessary; the tears filled eyes of the
students focused only on the picture of Christ.

This is an easy test; you score 100 or zero. It's your choice.

If you aren't ashamed to do this, please follow the directions.

Jesus said, "If you are ashamed of me, I will be ashamed of you,
before My Father."

Not ashamed ... pass this on.

Ashamed ... delete it.

One day Satan and Jesus were having a conversation. Satan had just
come from the Garden of Eden, and he was gloating and boasting. "Yes,
sir, I just caught the world full of people down there. Set me a trap used
bait I knew they couldn't resist. Got 'em all!"

"What are you going to do with them?" Jesus asked.

Satan replied, "Oh, I'm gonna have fun! I'm gonna teach them how to
marry and divorce each other, how to hate and abuse each other, how to
drink and smoke and curse. I'm gonna teach them how to invent guns and
bombs and kill each other. I'm really gonna have fun!"

"And what will you do when you get done with them?" Jesus asked.

"Oh, I'll kill 'em," Satan glared proudly.

"How much do you want for them?" Jesus asked.

"Oh, you don't want those people. They ain't no good. Why, you'll take
them and they'll just hate you. They'll spit on you, curse you and
kill you!! You don't want those people!!"

"How much?" He asked again.

Satan looked at Jesus and sneered, "All your tears, and all your
blood."

Jesus said, "DONE!" Then He paid the price.

Isn't it funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then
wonder why the world's going to hell.

Isn't it funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question
what the Bible says.

Isn't it funny how everyone wants to go to heaven provided they do not
have to believe, think, say, or do anything the Bible says. Or is it
scary?

Isn't it funny how someone can say "I believe in God" but still follow
Satan (who, by the way, also "believes" in God ).

Isn't it funny how you can send a thousand jokes through e-mail and!
they spread like wildfire, but
when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice
about sharing.

Isn't it funny how the lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene pass freely
through cyberspace, but the public discussion of Jesus is suppressed in
the school and workplace.

Isn't it funny how someone can be so fired up for Christ on Sunday,
but be an invisible Christian the rest of the week.

Are you laughing?

Isn't it funny how when you go to forward this message, you will not
send it to many on your
address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they
will think of you for sending it to them.

Isn't it funny how I can be more worried about what other people think
of me than what God thinks of me.

Will YOU pass this on? .... I did

Happy 10th Anniversary at Monavale!

Sunday. Sept. 4

Happy Father's Day! What? I thought that was in June, well not in New
Zealand. Don't ask me why, but it's in September. Dad, hopefully you got
my card :)

Well as you might have read in the subject line, it's been Capernwray's
10th Anniversary @ Monavale Homestead near Cambridge. So we had a
formalized dinner (everyone got dressed up) and had a slideshow of some
memories over the past 10 years here. There was even a video of PT and some
of the staff members doing a River Dance (however they "spoofed" it as
"Liver Dance"). I think my favorite part was afterward when I had a
bunch of slap fights with my guy friends. My arms hurt and they're red
now. I pretty much tried to beat up Adam,. Ray, and David. But they got me
pretty good :)

Adam says "Towers of colorful carousel horses". Don't ask!

I should be working on an assignment that's due tomorrow...Nah! I can
do it tomorrow morning....maybe :)

Best Week!

SAT. SEPT. 3

This week has probably been on of the best weeks ever! Let me
explain...

Monday
I got a card from my from Ruthie from last semester. it was awesome
because it was of an old guy pushing a car and it reminded me of when we
pushed our car, Bingo, when he died on the way to Huntly. Ya, the card
made me smile :)

That night was had cupcakes for dessert.Min Seok had 2 cupcakes and he
didn't want both of them. John said to just eat both, I said that he
could keep one for later and put it in his room but that he shouldn't put
it on the floor. I really don't know why i said that, i just said it.
Adam was like "who puts food on the floor?" So then we got into a whole
"arguement" (fun of course) about all that. and he (and John....RAy's
roomies in C6) kept on telling me that people dont' put food on the
floor. So then after tea i checked my e-mail and what not and when i came
to my room there was a cupcake on the floor. my 1st thought was that
Bethany or Jen might have put it there ( i know that doesn't make ANY
sense, but that's what I thought) so i took a pic of it to prove my point
to Adam that people actually DO put things like that on the floor. so i
took a pic and sent it to him. HOwever i found out from an outside
source that the cupcake was actually "planted" there by his cousin (
Katie, who's in my family group) and he got her to do it to basically make
fun of my point. Then monday night was pretty much us e-mailing each
other about who was right and who was wrong. That was definately fun :)

Tuesday
Ruthie also sent me a letter and i got it the day after I got her
card! How awesome is that! She also sent Ray and Elise a card too. Oh and
there were butterfly tattoos in it too.

Weds
Amy sent me a card with pictures from camp on it. Her letter was really
really funny (Amy I loved the part about the unicycle ;) )

Oh and I asked my German friend David how to say "yes" in German. He
said it was just "ya" so I kept repeating that. He asked me something in
German and I said "ya" because I didn't know what he said. Next thing I
know he's running off all giddy and happy. I didn't get it! So I asked
Hanna to tell me what he said and apparently he said "Willst du mit mir
gehen?" which means "will you go out with me?", NO!!! So during work
day Hanna taught me how to say "Nein, Ich moechte nicht mit dir gehen"
which means "no I will not go out with you". Of course this was all in
good fun and I told Gerkin (David's last name) that. and now we have
come to the agreement that we are just friends. It's a mutual thing :)

Thurs.
I have been noticing over the last few days that my days have been
getting better and better. I was telling Ben this @ breakfast and he kept
saying that his says kept getting worse and worse. Aw :( So after
breakfast me and Ayumi started plotting to "make Ben's day". I wrote him a
poem and Ayumi made him a sign and got a chocolate fish to give him. We
also put on ghoul masks and leather jackets because Ben was playing with
the masks a few weeks ago and he always wears a leather jacket. We
actually couldn't find him at first so we were running around in these
outfits trying to find him and everyone saw us and was like "what's going
on?" Then we found him in the student lounge. I think he liked our
presents :) We got some pictures of us posing with the masks and then Ben
and John turned the masks inside out and they looked really really creepy
like that.

Stacey also called me that day. It was just SO good to hear from her
again. It was definately weird not having her at school anymore. I almost
feel like i should be going to C6 to see her...NOT Ray and Adam and
John. Ya it's weird. But it was definately good to hear from her again :)
Thanks Staceyface :)

It was FAmily Night on Thurs. My family was going bowling and Adam said
that if I got a score of less than 110 i would owe him and ice cream.
If i got higher, than he would owe me and ice cream I actually ended up
with an 85 and an 83. So i owed him ice cream. I even made him a little
coupon to verify that i owed him one :)

Fri.
Me and my roomie Jen had a shopping date in Hamilton. Mostly we just
talked about school and what's going here. Then we went to Starbucks and
talked about boys the rest of the night :) Teheheheheh. We're even
plotting against C6, mainly just because can. We're thinking about sending
them notes with Disney Princess stickers on them. Oh ya, we're plotting
:)

We also went to a Christian book store. We spent like and hour in
there. I actually found the bestest combination of things ever!! There was a
book called Frog Wars there and it was a spoof of Star Wars done by
Veggietales. Oh ya! i definately bought it :) It's the story of Moses and
the Isrealites escaping Egypt. The characters are even spoofed:
Bob the Tomato= Mo= Obi Wan Kenobi= Moses< /FONT>
Mr. Nezzer=Dark Visor=Darth Vader= Pharoah< /FONT>
Larry the Cucumber=Cuke Sandwalker= Luke Skywalker=a slave< /FONT>
Madame Blueberry=Princess Hair-Spraya=Princess Leia=a slave< /FONT>
French Pea=Sweet-Pea-3-Oh=C3P0= aslave
French Pea=Achoo-Bless-You= R2D2= aslave< /FONT>
It's probably one of my fav books now, just because it's a combo of
VeggieTales and Star Wars :)

Sat.
So today was my "ice cream date" with Adam. Well actually it was more
hanging out with Yumi, Cat, Ray and Adam. But it was still fun. We even
took some really cute pictures during our "date". And if you're
wondering "what going on down there?", no, we're just friends. We spent most
of our time in Warehouse and in the bookshop. Now I think we're supposed
to be playing cards however i don't know where Adam is and he's got the
cards. Oh well.

i have just eaten EEL

SUN AUG 28

WHAT??? Ok for evening tea, Dean made gumbo, eel, and mussels. We've
had mussels before and I think this is the first time for gumbo. However
the eel was definately a first. yes , I ate it. I think some of the
guys went eeling (which is like fishing but you catch eels) and Dean (our
chef) cooked it. So when I saw it on the "buffet" line I thought I
might as well try it. Vanessa told me to get my video camera and video my
eel eating experience. so I did. It tasted alright and I only took a
couple of small bites of it but i did eat eel. So I was done eating it
and it was on my plate and I was squishing it because, well I could and
then something dark brown and pooh like substance squished out of it.
Ya it was sick!! But I didn't eat that part....but still. SICK!!! so
that was my experience eating EEL!! GROSS!!

What I Did Yesterday

Sunday Aug. 28

Hey it's Founder's Day @ Silliman University in the Philippines!
Somehow I actually remembered that. Weird as! That's the Uni that my mom went
to and I visited the high school there last time we went to the
Philippines in 2001. But ya, if you're reading this in the Philippines and you
know of Silliman University....HAPPY FOUNDER'S DAY!

Alright, what did I do yesterday? Not much. a fw of us went into town.
Me and my friend Adam had lunch @ Ron's (our principal) favorite cafe
in town. Then we went to the book store and I bought two "classic"
books. They were also on sale for "buy one get one free" and I"m always a
sucker for sales ;) So ya i ended up buying "Dracula" because I saw the
ballet last week and i got "Pride and Prejustice" which is what us girls
watched on Thursday. I dont' think you can ever go wrong with reading
"classics".

Then we walked by the musuem and we were like "it's open. Let's go
it!" It was SO random, yet so awesome. There really wasn't much in the
Cambridge musuem. I think the Spalding one had more antiques (do still
have the musuem), and that's saying somethine because Cambridge is like
Humboldt size. But ya it was fun taking pictures with the manniquins (if
I spelt that wrong, you know what I mean).

Then we found a path in the park and we went right under the narrow
bridge that everyone crosses to get into town. It was pretty much your
typical NZ walking path you got your mossy trees, silver ferns, oh and
even a waterfall thrown in there for good measure. Don't worry I got heaps
of pictures and I'll post them when I get home (sorry for the wait).

Then we ended up going to Warehouse and I got 2 cheap CD's:
Duelin' Banjos (for whenever I'm in a "Hick music" mood) $4.99
Avril Lavigne..Let God $6.99
I love this country! But ya that's pretty much all I did yesterday.

Oh ya! Me, Adam, Ray and Vanessa all played pictionary out by the
picnic table @ school. It was nice to just sit in the sun and play a game.
It was fun too because watching people guess what the picture is always
fun :) Good times had by all! Then the rest of the day was spent
e-mailing people. I think I sent about 6 e-mails yesterday, somewhere in
there. Then I read a little bit and since I was tired I went to bed @ about
10:30. And that was about it. Not really that eventful which is how I
usually like my weekends.

Oh I have come to the conclusion that guys in white collared dress
shirts and blue jeans look really really good. That's my "thing". Like my
friend Ruthie last semester, her "thing" was guys in baseball shirts. I
have found my "thing". As in the "thing" that I think makes guys most
attractive. There you go. So if my "Mr.Darcy" (of course based on the
character from "Pride and Prejustice") is reading this and you want to
impress me, wear a white collared dress shirt and blue jeans. ;)
