"You Think There's Not Alot Going On, Look Closer, Baby, You're So Wrong..."

Being from Saskatchewan, I've become a huge fan of Corner Gas. It's pretty much the No.1 Comedy series in Canada, don' question it...it's science ;) But yes. It's been like a "father/daughter bonding time" when me and dad watch the show. And since I got the 2nd Season on DVD and me and dad have been watching it almost all night, it's been on my mind. So since it's been on my mind, I thought I'd find out by a little "quizzie-poo" which character from Corner Gas I can "relate" to the most. Surprisingly, here's the results:

brent
The owner and proprietor of Corner Gas, Brent Leroy
is a laid back entrepreneur with a quick wit
and an unsubsiding hunger for chilidogs.
Brents calm nature and lighthearted demeanour
make it easy for him to deal with all the
characters and personalities inhabiting Dog
River.

Which Corner Gas character are you most like?

Alberta Trip and Contemplations about Future

Hey!! I'm really sorry that I haven't blogged in like an age and a half! I've been having heaps of things going through my mind and plus I've been visiting some friends in Alberta [Ben & Renay I'm sorry I can't make it to Red Deer :( ]. Which has been great because I've mostly been visiting friends from Capernwray which is great because I've been able to catch up with them face to face rather than e-mailing them and waiting for them to reply, then having them wait for my to reply. You know how it goes ;)

One thing that's been going through my mind is "what am I going to do now? Job? School? Where to live? What to take in school if i did go? Which Uni should i go to?" Well I thought I might get some insight/inspiration on my 2 week trip to Alberta and i did get some ideas. My cousin Happy suggested that i look into journalism. Why's that? Well you're reading the reason why right now. She said that the blog is really entertaining and that I"m a good writer. What do you guys think? Like i haven't gotten a chance to really pray about this either and I guess it's all up to God to decide what I should do, but I also wouldn't mind hearing you're guys's advice too. I mean i really do enjoy just spilling out my thoughts and opinions and i think it would be a bonus if i could get paid to do that too. I did want to be a teacher but then i realized that I don't think i'm patient enough for that. I'd most likely end up loosing my temper very quickly and someone would get hurt, including me. So that can't be good. However i do love working with people, but i need my own "personal working space". Ok, I'm really gonna have to look into this journalism thing. I remember taking Journalism in Gr.11 and i think i got about a 90% in that class. Maybe that's a sign. Who knows?!

Now as for where I'd take it? Well my options can be U of S (Saskatoon) or possibly U of C (Calgary). Why Calgary? Well like 5 of my friends from school are here and it'd be nice to have a support system of Capernwray people. However i already know of a house i can rent in Saskatoon...but it's too close to home. Now that I've been out of Canada for a year, i liked being away from home. And yes, Calgary is a VERY big city for a small town Sask girl like me, but I've got one of my good friends, my cousin & her husband, and my Capers friends here so there are options as to where to get help if I'm ever lost in this giant maze of streets and overpasses.

Wait, i know some of you are asking "But what about New Zealand and your internship there?" Well my pastor down there e-mailed me saying that the school year hasn't started down there yet (remember it's still summer down there) so it's hard to tell @ this stage whether or not they will need me. I'm still feeling frustrated about that whole "we don't know when/if we need you" thing. And i also looked into the option of working @ Capernwray Australia, but I haven't heard anything from them yet. Again, we'll see what happens.

So what have i been up to since come to Alberta? Well my trip has included events like:
-helping Jen at her work
-shopping at Walmart
-going out for cheap chicken wings & Bubbletea
-watching "Spiderman" & "the SpongeBob movie"
-watching TV
-shopping @ Market Mall
-walking down Kensington RD and shopping there
-went out for to a Greek restuarant
-went to IKEA
-my cousin permed my hair (which is wavy now) and i dyed her hair black
-went to my cousin's Family Group from her church
-had brunch @ a Capers* friend's house
-went bowling with Capers friends and I think i got 107 and a 90something as my scores
-had a Capers reunion which consisted of BBQ'd burgers, awesome cake for dessert and we played a crazy game of Cranuim
-we were really really tired and somehow us girls justified a natural disaster wiping out the Rockies so that everyone would come live in Sask because our ground is SO dry that it would absorb any kind of tidal wave that came over the Rockies and everone from Alberta would come live in Sask just to survive. Ok that probably doesn't make ANY sense, but you had to have been there to really get it
-and us girls also came up with a band possibility and our band would be called "Bob's Your Uncle"...don't ask!
-went to church and went out for eggs Benedict (Nikki got the Fruit Fiesta, which was just fruit...no fiesta)
-watched "Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy"
-walked around the mall
-me and Nikki went to Chinook mall and there was this big crowd of people there and a music store, turns out that Bryan Adams was there! I even got a picture of him, well ok it's more of the back of his head...but it's still him!
-tried on dresses and i got a black one for less than $25! I'm SO excited to wear it around!
-went out for cheescake and cocktails
-watched "Sweet Home Alabama"
-walked around the mall
-watched "Pretty in Pink" (I really want a Duckie!!!!! watch the movie, you'll see what i mean) and "Finding Neverland"
-and of course this all included watching Capers class DVD's and various Capers home videos

The next leg of my trip includes a stop in Edmonton and possibly one in Three Hills then back to Calgary for a couple of days until my plane leaves for the flattest province in Canada *sigh*...gotta love Sask! Anyway I'm out. I'll see you folks later on! And please drop me a line of advice as to what I should do about my near future. I'd love to hear your suggestions. Bye 4 now!

Cute Cat

Happy 2006 my online fans!! How were your celebrations? I'd love to hear about it all! Well my mom got this from a friend of hers and she was all excited about it cause she thought it was just adorable. so have fun with it! Click on the link @ the bottom to see the Cat...

Go to this site (link below) to see something awesome! I have no clue how they got this to work. There are some great code writers out there! If you tease her with the mouse pointer on her chest or stomach she will purr, I got her to meow also, by rubbing her forehead with the pointer. If you make a slow circle around her body, (counter-clockwise) not only will her head/eyes follow your pointer, but toward the top, her paw will go up, and ! when in front of her paws at the bottom, her foot comes out like she wants to play with your mouse pointer. (Don't hold the mouse down, just move it)
Enjoy!
